I lived in Buras at the time. The day after I flew over the lower end of Plaquemines Parish in route to check on some platforms and I didn't recognize the place. There was still 8-15ft of water covering the parish. When I got to my house a few days later I noticed the water line inside was 8ft high on the second floor. So the water got as high as 25ft.

It sucked. It still sucks.

Very much so. It was and always will be a life changing event for those directly involved in dealing with it. Just have to plow on and make the best of it.
