I hope Harris continues to mature and eventually takes over as the starting QB. BUT, lets stop pretending that sophomore and freshman QBs regularly just come in college football and succeed with numbers similar to second and third year starting QBs. (+2:1 TD,INTs; >60% Comp %) It certainly does happen (Aaron Murray for example) but it isn't a normality. Add in that we run a pro style set which is difficult for the QB to read the defense post snap and where he has to react much quicker compared with the one-two, pre-snap read spread offenses.

So, comparing apples to apples, just in terms of first year starters and running a "similar offense" to LSU with like competition. (In no way am i saying Jennings is as talented)

Matt Stafford

Jamarcus Russell

Compared to.... Anthony Jennings

Let the best man compete and win the job!

Ooo and my bad for being rational!

Stafford's 2006 52.7% completions, 7TD with 13INT is cause for optimism regardless of who starts next year.
