I'm not even arguing either side... but comparing 1 guy from this era to 1 guy from another era is dumb.

The people saying athletes today are bigger, faster, stronger or whatever are obviously talking about on the whole.

They may not even be talking about at the top. The top athletes from each generation are probably pretty comparable. But where there may be a difference is with your "average" athlete in the league.
