In an exam?
Given known concentrations of a DNA binding protein, nucleic acid, and change of energy in the solution upon mixing, calculate the number of water molecules displaced by the interaction
In a real world context?
Had a well drilled on our property, and was able to get a pretty good estimate of the gallons per minute output knowing how many horse power a motor we had and the depth of the well.
The latter was far more satisfying.
