Regardless it's about time for Augie to go also. With the exception of making it to Omaha last year, UT baseball has struggled since 2009, for UT standards anyways. It's a new era for UT sports. Their long time coaches got complacent and stale and it's time for new blood.

no they didn't. each of their long time coaches had one bad year (literally) and the fanbase is too spoiled to stand it.

2010 football - only bowlless season in Brown's tenure
2012-2013 Basketball - only NCAAless season for Barnes
2013 Baseball -

seriously... it's mindblowing that they can have those coaches with that kind of record and postseason presence and force 2 (probably 3 soon) out.

UT Football:
2010: 5-7
2011: 8-5
2012: 9-4
2013: 8-5

With the amount of football talent in the state of Texas Mack's last 4 years were inexcusable. Especially when you consider they hadn't lost more than 3 games in a season since 2000, he got complacent and left the cupboards bare.

Just because Barnes was making the tournament, doesn't mean he wasn't underachieving. With the money UT has and the high school basketball talent that is constantly leaving the state, they really should be up there with the blue bloods. They have a better coach now, they made the right move.

Augie is a huge a-hole that people just tolerate because he was winning. 2011 and 2012 UT baseball was really bad, and last season was really overachieving. I would give Augie at least one more season personally, but wouldn't shock me to see him gone this season since they have a new AD.

I can't speak to Texas Baseball, but it was absolutely time for the other 2 to go.

Mack's later teams had zero discipline and that's a lot of the reason Strong had to clean house. He couldn't find a quarterback after Colt, while RG3, Petty, Dalton, Maziel, etc. were all tearing it up for lesser programs in the state.

Barnes was the definition of mediocre and clearly UT expects more, can't blame them for that.
