Dortmund are the second largest club in Germany and could buy pretty much anyone they want. They don't bc they run an effective business model and like most german clubs make huge profits.

So now that their flash in the pan success is over and they aren't even in touching distance of Bayern and are not a threat in Europe anymore what are they going to do?

Keep their "effective business model" and wait another decade for the next brief spell of success or start playing with the big boys?

If they really can "buy anyone they want" yet refuse to even as their best players are poached by their main rival then Klopp is an idiot, the club has no ambition, or both. That's how you get to be a mid table after thought.
