I have always maintained that the thing that truly separated TM7 from other great playmakers with incredible athleticism and instincts is a simply amazing amount of hand-eye coordination. He almost never simply batted balls or scrambled after them. If it was within arm's reach, he pretty much had it in his hands. Watching him punch balls out of runners' hands and snatch them before they even hit the ground was a marvel. And loose balls? Forget about it!

It wouldn't surprise me if he could have developed into an amazing baseball player. My guess is that his reaction times and hand eye coordination would have made him a terror at the plate.
