"Begrudge". No. It's Sonic's job to pay their employees. That's why they don't pay them $3 or whatever it is that a waiter makes. Could someone please explain why we should tip a Sonic worker but not a Carl's Jr worker or the McDonald's guy that carries the order out to a car?

As a matter of fact, you and the other know-it-alls who have mentioned this, Sonic does not pay carhops minimum wage. My son was recently hired there and they get $4 an hour. They greatly depend on tips to make the job worthwhile.
