Like missing out on the clap.
The "what if?" of the OP is erroneous as the NFL Draft is not conducted in a vacuum. If a team trades away a pick at, say #20, the team which they trade it to then can and does change the entire draft from that point on forward by picking ANY other player than the one the original #20 pick would have been used on.
