I don't disagree with anything you've said. But there is little doubt in my mind we could still pull in elite recruits without having a pro style offense and instead having more of a spread style. Would we miss out on some recruits? Maybe. But do you think our offense last year and other sputtering offensive teams we've had didn't also scare off some elite QBs and WRs in the past?

Thing is, is that the NFL it self is incorporating more and more spread elements in their offenses so I don't see it as big an advantage as it use to be in preparing for the NFL
