Yeah this is the part I dont get. How did he just sink?!? People float, they don't just sink out of site like that without being weighed down. I just don't get it. It's tragic for the family but the story doesn't make sense to me.

I sink, but I know how to swim. Whether you sink or swim is based on body density. Overgeneralization: Fat people tend to float, lean people tend to sink. I remember a swim instructor getting really pissed with me for not floating when I was a kid. I would take a deep breath hold it and relax. She would hold me up at the surface and let go. I immediately started sinking.

Her explanation for why I sank was that I was not relaxed enough!

I guess she failed her science classes.
