Insanity Max:30 or P90X3?

Which is better? Does Insanity build muscle mass or just tone it up? Is P90X3 as effective as normal P90X?
If I need to some some weight then put it back on as muscle which should I do?

I haven't done either, but if my understanding is correct (which it might not be) Insanity is a little more cardio based while x3 (similar to p90x) focuses a bit more on muscle building.

P90X3 has more resistance traning compared to insanity but neither program barely builds muscle mass. Even with intense lifting you're lucky if you put on 1 lb of muscle a month.
If your goal is adding lean muscle I strongly suggest lifting weights. I've tried all three and bodybuilding gave me the best results by far.
If your goal is losing weight try P90X3 or insanity.

For long term fitness (build muscle, keep bodyfat% low) all able men should lift weights and use cardio as supplement only. the results are fantastic and I can't stress it enough. If you're very old and can't lift heavy then it's a different story.
