We came home yesterday from a trip to town and as pulled into the driveway, a mallard hen came flying out of the flower bed about 10' from the front door. I checked it out and found she had built a cozy nest under some irises and hostas. Not likely she will stay with my truck parked about 10 ft away and the activity at the front door. This morning she and the drake were in the front yard.
Also have killdeer nesting next door. Fun to watch them act like they are at deaths door when you get within sight of the nest. We see a lot of great wildlife here. Saw a bald eagle yesterday land in a tree and eat a fish.
