I was expecting to do some bed fishing but the water was muddy. So I started flipping.

Maybe around 1215 area maybe Bison.
Unless I can talk him into going back where we caught the fish...

My dad is still doing well in blue lake. Texas rigged speed craw in the buck brush and flukes around the grass.

Always wanted to head up there...is it tough to find a decent place to stay or dhould i just day trip? Live near Marksville. tia

There are a million places to stay. It depends what area you want to fish. You can get some little one man cabins for very cheap if you don't need anything fancy and fish a day and a half easy from Marksville.

We been catchin them good the last two days right around our camp near San Miguel. Speed craws and brush hogs mostly.

We caught a few the past few days. A couple different spots produced for us. Paulo Gaucho, Lanan, and all around the north state park. Caught a 7 lb Thursday along with about 15 other bass. On top of that we caught over 40 sacalait, but mostly smaller ones. I caught a 7.5 yesterday and about 12 other bass including some 3's and 4's. And 10 today.
Caught the 7 on a watermelon senko in about 5 ft of water next to some buck brush. Caught the 7.5 on a spinnerbait over a hump in about 8 ft of water off of a point. It was loaded with submerged grass. We picked up quite a few nice ones there on spinnerbait and rat-l-trap. We also caught a few on black and blue lizard, junebug lizard, sprayed grass finess worm, junebug and watermelon red senko, and japanese bluegill brush hogs.

We've just been fishin up shallow. Friday they were eating a speed craw, but yesterday we couldn't hardly get em to touch it. My dad started catching them good on a baby brush hog so I put one on and started catching them, too.
We caught 23 keepers Friday and 20 yesterday.

Ended up with 24 keepers (40) total with the dinks and 2 choupique, on of them was huge.

The next pocket north of San Miguel launch that has camps in it.

I love San Miguel and my buddy hates fishing there. Some of the best grass I have ever seen close to deep water besides Housen.

A good buddy from Thibodaux caught no. 73 in the Lunker Program Friday afternoon. 10.3#. Should be on Sportsman soon.
When does the big bass bite usually stop? I'm going for the first time with "Living the Dream" in May, but I'd like to do some bass fishing too.

Is it the cove with that trailer on top of the huge hill and the camp in the middle with all of the rods hanging on the wall of the back porch? Some type of old floating dock out in the middle

Yep. Ours the one on the very top of the big hill. Can't beat the view!
