well shite if you can run 1/2 a mile in 3 mins you're doing better than most people. of course you're getting out of breath. try slowing down a little for longer distances.

I was thinking the same thing. He's just now getting in to running and is running 6 min/mile repeats. My first suggestion would be to slow it down...a lot.

Yeah for whatever reason sprinting for 1/10 of a mile is way easier for me than jogging just 1. I think HIIT may be what I'm looking for.
