I work m-th...no OT, no weekends and no holidays. I don't get paged regarding pts once I clock out. I have a fully funded pension, free healthcare for my whole family, 403B and 457 plans, 10 paid holidays a year, and a kick arse pto/sick accrual. My quality of life as an RN would at minimum be as good as a PA. To top it off I haven't wiped arse in years. Not all RN jobs are created equal.

So basically, the providers above you making the medical decisions and taking on more liability have a worse financial/QOL situation than the nurses? That doesn't make much sense. But more power to you.

The amount of money someone in healthcare can make, call time, PTO, CME reimbursements, etc are ALL dependent on what field you work in, who you work for and whether you work in the private, public, government, etc. sector. Chose the private sector(derm if you can).

California has a HUGE nursing union presence. They don't like the way they are treated....they strike over it.
