I doubt these major brands would let Amazon use them in an april fools prank
I'm certain it's real but wouldn't this be covered under parody freedom of speech laws?

It's real man. Way too many news agencies covering it now to be fake.

But are they covering it because amazon made it look legit with OMG WRITING A TOS PAGE FOR IT.
It could be real, just seems really weird, niche like.
But it'l going to take something like this for IoT to take off so this could be the first step.

Think I'll go to the grocery store rather than waiting and paying for shipping.

Think I'll save the trip and use the free next day shipping that comes with it.

It's not hard at all. I do it a few times a week. I think this product (if real) is for those people that are too lazy to replace the toilet paper when they finish a roll. If picking up your phone to order coffee has become too burdensome when you notice you are running low, i don't think this button is going to help you out.
Have you been living in a cave the past 15 years? Everything about these tech companies revolves around convenience. If they can reduce just a single step of your daily life, they'll throw millions to achieve that. If they can reduce just a single step of buying their product, they'll throw millions at achieving that.
Amazon 1 click purchase. Oh you're too lazy to click 3 times??? Not necessarily, but people are MUCH more inclined to buy something with 1 click. The proof is in the numbers.
What you said above has been said about dozens of innovations, yet people eat it up.

I still don't know what that means.
