I've had the dish with black pepper crab in southeast asia.

Ive seen it done to non seasoned crawfish. I had never seen it done to quality crawfish. It was a possibke game changer, though awful for you

There's one of those joints here in CO (pun intended). It was weird to say the least. Trying to peel them was a pain in the arse because they felt like they were dipped in KY.
