Did this play by play guy just mistake Terrence Boyd for Fabian Johnson?

Draw.
No winners today, but one loser.
Thanks, Jozy.

Boyd is in camp, so he could be at the game, but he isn't doing full workouts.

Brooks is beast mode since the send off
Right up until the part where he left his man on a set piece and let him walk it into the goal.
Brooks is fantastic physically, but his positional awareness makes Omar look like Cannavaro.
Trying to find a positive - I think this is the best Timmy Chandler has looked since his debut in a US jersey.

True but I think this kid has massive potential. He could be a mainstay at CB for years

His final ball is so terrible though. Frustrating as hell

But he's got to figure out how to not ball watch at some point.
Gooch got (a little) better at it, Omar hasn't really. The big, great athlete guys often rely to much on their size and athleticism to cover for an inability to read the game.
Think of what a disaster it was against Ukraine with Brooks AND Gooch back there.
What are we going to do - pair him with Jermaine Jones (which seems likely), and push Bradley way up the field? Christ - the entire center of the field past the center stripe will be wide open.

Not disagreeing with what you are saying. Just hoping that it's just a sign of youth and inexperience.
On a brighter note, did anyone else think Danny Williams looked good especially for being his first game back in quite a while?

I thought Williams and Chandler looked good. Other than a little feistiness, I didn't see much out of Morales. It looks like he has a skill set to grow on - but he probably shouldn't be deployed wide.
Saw a lot of the same stuff we were seeing last summer, with players bunching, and width coming as a mad sprint (often from Chandler), than seemingly by design. Bedoya and Morales were our wide players, but were often in the center circle.
I'm sure our tactical wizard will get that figured out if we give him six or seven more years.

It's fine to have two tucked in outside mids, if you get enough from your wingbacks. In that scenario, you'd need guys like Fabian Johnson (guess he was going for that with Brekkers) and DeAndre Yedlin.

I don't think Brek can cover ground like that, certainly not for an extended period. I get what they're going for - but it doesn't necessarily match the personnel available.

No it doesn't. I was just guessing at what he was going for. I think it would be fine with Fab on the left. I also don't think Chandler is fit enough to play that much offense, tbh
