We recruited cardale Jones, jt Barret, Jeremy Johnson, etc... Again players can choose to play for whoever they want.

People forget that these kids have minds of their own. LSU can recruit the best prospects at QB but ultimately they go where they want to.

We nearly had Kiel reeled in. He just had a soft spot for his mom. He clearly would've been excellent.

Most schools don't have many opportunities at reeling in elite QBs. There's no philosophy problem. There's a QB shortage problem.

Another season, same ole QB story. Oh, but wait, Mett negates all the other years of us sucking at QB!!!!!

He was a QB here. Why do people intent on dogging the coaching staff want to ignore Mett's tenure? Oh wait, I know, because it undermines your agenda.

It's not that your statement is incorrect in and of itself, but do you not think that we have a systemic problem with this? Or do you just believe that we're continuously unlucky when it comes to QB development?

Hey genius, who was ignoring him? I talked about him. As a matter of fact, you focusing on his tenure doesn't get rid of the problem, it highlights it.

I think we get talented/capable QB prospects. I think we have issues with the development of them and our offense in general. Even in Mett's tenure, it wasn't until his 3rd year at LSU that he had a really good year. After the awesome junior college performance, he basically sat the first year behind JJ and JL (understandable). In his junior year, we went 10-3, but he completed 58% of his passes with 12 TDs and 7 INTS. He was awesome against Bama, but he had numerous lackluster performances. In the Peach Bowl loss against Clemson, we had just 120 yards passing.

In his last year at LSU, he was really good, but we still needed a 99-yard miracle drive by Anthony Jennings in Tiger Stadium to beat a winless-in-the-SEC Arkansas team to avoid a 4th loss (and that was with two of the best receivers and one of the best RBs on one offense that you will ever see). I suppose one could credit the coaches to have AJ ready for that moment, but we had our issues even with mega-talent.
