Whose responsibility is it to fix a possible scratch on the hood from the pistol?

I am glad your stop ended with you feeling as if it was a good ending. I can say that it would not have ended the same way, if it were me being stopped. I am 1,000% behind our law enforcement officers, but will not allow one to pull items out of either one of my vehicles without probable cause or a search warrant. While I have absolutely nothing to hide, there is no law that says every gun is to be checked for being stolen written in any state of the Union.

When you get stopped, tough guy, you just go ahead and challenge the cops.

Your 5 minute traffic stop will probably turn into a several hour ordeal.

Without going into too much detail, I've gotten out of 2 major traffic violations by being upfront with officers about having loaded firearms in my vehicle.
