Jennings completed 9 of 14 passes, according to Les Miles, for 200 yards and two scores, with two additional touchdowns in red zone work. Brandon Harris completed "a handful” of his 22 attempts, which Miles later clarified as "10 or 12.”

"I’ve got big hands,” he joked.

Miles talked at length about his quarterbacks, giving as close to a definitive statement on the position as he has all spring.

"Anthony Jennings probably has performed better on more days,” Miles said, "and other days it’s been Brandon Harris.”

"It’s year two,” he added. "We expect more out of them and expect them to not only execute the offense, but to also give us experience at the play caller and understand where we want to go and what we’re supposed to do. It’s heighted expectation.”

Setting a goal of completing 70 percent of the team’s passes, Miles noted that while Jennings has had the edge on more days, he’s not seeing enough separation between the two for his liking.

"I already know they’re better than they were last year,” he said. "To find a real quality quarterback and to have separation from one to the other, that’s what I’m looking for. I’m not necessarily seeing that.”
