2015 Buick Enclave - Help me negotiate
Posted on 3/27/15 at 6:07 pm

so i am currently on an extended test drive (meaning its sitting in my driveway )of a used Enclave Leather Group.
Dealership has it listed at 39,995 it has 14,000 miles and has taken $3000 off to get it at $36,674
I have a work plan that can get me a brand new Enclave or Acadia at around $39,500
what price do i try and get the Enclave down. I feel the fact that the used car is the same list price as a brand new (although my work deal gets it >$4000 off msrp) gives me some more room to work down the price
Thoughts?

The new Buicks are nice and they are pretty damn reliable.

Who is your salesman? Is he a new car salesman or used?

Why in the frick would you buy a $40,000 Buick?

With your discount, go new, hands down.
They hold value well and they are top tier in the near-luxury, mid sized SUV segment.
Good luck.

It's what my wife drives, it's a great vehicle. You should be able to get the used one for 31 or so. I bought ours used with 24k miles for 28k

Sounds like its a no-brainer on the new one, other than the fact its a Buick.

got any other suggestions for a suv in that class with second row captain seats?
i hate suvs with a 3rd row with the second row bench seats.

The new car is the way to go, especially if you get preferred pricing with your employer. Go to Crown if you haven't already.

Offer them some of your prunes and usage of your AARP card for a few weeks. Should get you right where you need to be, old timer.

I'm not downing the vehicle, just the price point. Can you not find one a few years older with the same amenities? It's just terrible losing almost half the value of a car in 2-3 years.
As far as suggestions? If I'm spending that much, I'm buying a Toyota Highlander. It will depreciate much slower, and you can still get the 2nd row captain seats - and it's 6-7k cheaper.
