My Mom taught at Slidell High for a decade, Mandeville for a few years and another decade+ at Northshore. A good percentage of AP and Gifted classes. She finally retired after last year... but still volunteers for some local outreach (United Way typpe) programs because she thinks the young people in Slidell need more help now than they ever did since we moved there in 1983.

90% of my family lives there and I grew up there and I can easily say that nothing about the neighborhoods they live in or schools they went to would be considered trashy to anyone that knows what they are talking about.

But I have to remember I'm on tiger droppings where mandeville and Covington are considered some type of perfect oasis
