So Chick-fil-A is a hateful company? And that girl should be ashamed of herself for working at a hateful company? Remember : he said very little about pro-Gay, and chick-fil-a never said anything anti-gay.

I left this thread alone but came back and saw I was at risk of being seen as on the same side as StrongSafety.

To clarify, I don't think CFA is a hateful company. I don't think the groups they supported are hate groups. I do think gay marriage should be legal, but that never plays a part in my decision to eat delicious chicken. I am not a SJW (ironically this is the group that celebrates the destruction of a person's life for something they did or said publicly).

My only opinion on this matter is, assuming the story of him being unemployable for 3 years is true (apparently in dispute based on some digging), I think that sucks for him and I do have sympathy for a relatively minor error in judgement having such an impact on the rest of your life.

I would not celebrate a 16 year old living their entire life in poverty because they posted a racist, hateful, bigoted rant or video on social media either. I am not comparing a 16 year old to a CFO, only emphasizing that something like this should not bring down a life sentence to poverty or hardship on an entire family. I imagine the guy has learned his lesson about flaunting his opinions in such a public and rude manner.

The fact that more and more evidence shows this guy is a megadouche does not change that for me. As a principle, being happy with this situation, to me, would be the same as if someone like Adam Smith celebrated CFA going under and the CEO (who is by no accounts a megadouche) losing his livelihood because of his opinions. The punishment doesn't fit the crime.
