When I was a senior in HS, we were doing summer bball workouts and had a little frosh come in the weight room with pool noodles that his mom had cut so that they could be utilized as pussy pads. The whole bball team lost their shite and our coaches told the kid that we're not pussies. The kid quit

I hate them. A lot. Tried them out when I was in high school, but I would end up losing the feel of the bar and it felt more dangerous to me actually, like the pad's velcro would split or something.

I have seen these:

before, and I would imagine they lead to a more stable bar, but I have never used one, personally.

I used it but stopped and got used to just the bar. It just felt like a distraction

Seems like it'd be a good way for the bar to roll off your back when doing heavy weight. Never used one
