I agree that being part of a group is important. I do the Beachbody workouts and, because you do them at home, you usually do them alone. Combine that with healthy eating that usually means you're cooking at home, and you kind of become a recluse.

Also, lots of the Beachbody programs don't really give you big gains. They just make you lean and fit. Finally, lots of the moves are rather complicated which makes it easy to cheat.

My point is you can find faults in almost everything. Nothing is perfect. The OP needs to ask himself would he be where he is today without Crossfit. If his answer is "No", then I don't see how he can call it a sham.

I agree and this helps make point. So many cultfitters see cultfit as what invented exercising or the moves that's been around since the beginning. It is the end all be all of working out. In ten years no one will even remember cultfit. Just like cross training and aerobics. They were all fads as is cultfit.

Exactly, you get what you put in, if it's an at home workout, crossfit, a globo gym, whatever.

Yea there are douche bags at crossfit. But they also have douche bags at planet fitness. And there are douch bags that pimp beach body all over my Facebook

The same entities also have bad coaching. I've seen more people walk into a globogym and just start working out, having no clue what they are doing. I've seem fat trainers at these places too.

Globogym guys are so insecure when it comes to CF because it's taking away people from them. They hear people talk about it and they become angered. This goat guy is a perfect example. He's making fun of people working out In a group, meeting friends, and seeing results.

All while the globogym he works out at has probably implemented a CF type class to keep up with the Jones.
