My opinion would be different if the cops were on duty. Being intoxicated would clearly impair their ability to apply justice in accordance with the law, but the fact that they're off-duty entitles them to the same treatments you and I would be subjected to.

Totally agree. It's the same as firemen who start fires while on duty as opposed to off. You just can't commit arson on the clock. Ever.

I never said that they should be punished more severely, I am only saying that if they get more public scrutiny, then so be it.
