I think everyone had a significant hand in this loss, although this would be nowhere near the example I'd point to if we're talking about Jones as a bad coach. The free throw shooting and missed shots are not on him at all. However, I think he had a huge hand in:
1) LSU playing terrible defense down the stretch (really much of the second half). NC State put up wide open 3 after wide open 3; they just missed them. They really got whatever shots they wanted down the stretch. This is an ongoing issue with LSU's teams since he has been here.
2) LSU went very conservative with a lot of time left in the game. They ran the shot clock down as low as they could and didn't get into effective offensive sets. I'm not sure that I even disagree with this strategy but LSU definitely played not to lose, tightened up (not Jones' fault), and handed this game away.
