I check my pistol all the time. It's a pretty easy process as long as you have an approved case with a lock (doesn't have to be TSA approved). Make sure it's unloaded and I usually take the slide off the frame. DO NOT put magazines or any other functional parts of the gun in your carry-on or checked bag. Make sure it's all in the case. Holsters, mag holsters, etc. can be in your bag.


HI's rules are pretty strict. If you do bring it, you better do a lot of research.
