I wish ULM would wear Louisiana on their jerseys to confuse everyone even more.

ULM doesn't have to. ULM is not trying to be something (a flagship university) that they are not. ULL is trying to overcompensate, but it really just draws more attention to the fact they are a mid major directional school (nothing wrong with that).
