What are yall's thoughts on the tigers making a deep run into the tournament. When the competition steps up so do the tigers. RealisticalIy can see them into the Sweet 16 and possibly into the Elite 8. Even if you chalk the bottom half of the bracket you would get UNI or Louisville and Virgina and Oklahoma. All teams that cannot guard Mickey and Martin.

I think they take NCST. If they get past Nova, I can see them making the Elite 8 against the Michigan State-UVA winner.

LSU has no shot at beating a 1 seed, let alone an 8 seed.

" .. If they get past Nova,.. "

*********************************************
... answered your own prediction .. Should have said : "If they get past N.C. State they will make the 2nd round " Much safer ...

If you have watched Nova play they are good but no where near a true 1 seed. They played an ok non-conference schedule and a joke of a conference schedule. i think that if you put the big men and let the dominate the post you can see an upset and a trip to the sweet 16

Nova will run the floor all over LSU. Guard play is what wins games in the NCAA tourney... LSU doesn't have good enough guard play to go very deep.......

I wonder if our strategy of heavy turnover/jack up 3s on offense and never box out on defense will hold up in the tourney. Guess only time will tell.

This!

I love LSU basketball as much as the next guy and hope we beat NC State, but based on this team's inconsistencies, I don't see how this team makes a deep run.

Nova has played well all year. They are consistently good. That may not translate into a deep run for Nova but those who really think LSU is going to cruise by a #1 needs to take an unbiased approach. I am not convinced LSU knows how to play focused enough games in a row to make a "deep run."

That said, I hope LSU comes out focused and that JJ puts the Tigers in a position to execute.

It depends on which team shows up. They are absolutely unpredictable this year.

So you're saying if we win the first 2 games, there is a possibility that they can win a 3rd?
