That's much easier if you don't work in a 24/7 365 industry like Oillfield and Maritime.
I do exactly that and I still unplug. once again, balance is the key. if you train people to wear you out, they will.

This is the best advice I've ever received. It is exactly what I was told from a coworker/supervisor at my new job. She warned me before my first official day that I should NOT attach my work e-mail to my phone and I should NOT jump up any time my boss wants me (when I'm not at work).
She made the mistake, and she ends up meeting with him every Saturday and doing a lot of work during her off time.
Hell, I made the mistake of adding myself to his cell the other day so I could text myself a photo he had. He didn't have my # saved previously. I deleted the text once I sent it so he wouldn't realize I was added to his phone and he STILL noticed I was added to his contact list and called me the next day to chat about work while I was trying to "airplane mode" my phone for a flight
I'm young and have a long way to go as far as my future goes, but being 24/7 employee is just not something I'm interested in ever.
