Have any issues with the bones while eating? I've been wanting to do whole stripe bass but my wife is worried about picking through the bones.
Depends on what you call "issues." We have always fried fish whole in my family..... I am used to eating around bones. As Otis said, you can prepare her serving for her. I did for my wife & son last night.

Not sure why.... May have to try that.
And yea that belly meat is good.
