It's said that you must have 3 or more positive comments to out weigh one negative comment when dealing with subordinates to keep the employees happy

An underling not open to constructive criticism needs to be fired asap.

On the flip side, I have had unmotivated staff, men and women, and they got weeded out pretty quickly.

Are you sure that it was an actual human female and not an android or effeminate human male?
I have learned from the medium of film/cinema that they are making some very convincing androids that look like attractive human females.
