Follow your docs orders and recs. everyone is different and every surgery is different. You are going to be sore as a sum bitch, but deal with it. There are constants with each surgery within the same scope, so you can get tips from others. But, mainly follow the docs instructions. Meds don't take away all the pain and rehab sucks. Follow your med orders and remember they are take as needed, not take b/c I have them.
FWIW I was a nurse in an ortho group for 5 years.... Only been out about 1.5yrs. Good luck, it sucks having your arm in that shoulder
Immobilizer with the big arse pillow.

The rehab sucks, it took my shoulder a year before it was back to normal. Good luck is all I can say.

plus the interscalene block as someone mentioned, my rehab wasn't as bad as some people experience, nor was the first few days post-op, but I did exactly what the doc told me to do, the cold water pump is an awesome thing, I would not buy the little pulley thing that goes over a door, golf club exercise was OK, spent first 2, maybe three nights on the sofa, after that, got back in bed, ultimately you'll be glad you had the surgery and probably wished you'd done it sooner, good luck
