Sure, but to use this as a diet plan would be incredibly stupid.
Satiety has to be taken into account. People aren't going to overcome their primal urges to eat. Eating 500 calories of donuts won't leave you as satisfied as eating 500 calories of avocados or something else that has a good nutrient profile with some healthy fats.

Lots of diets meet this. Atkins being a prime example. In the long tern, "diets" don't work period.
As many have said, a wholesale lifestyle change is the only thing that works.
