I feel your pain.As much as I love deer hunting it can be a huge hassle, especially dealing with family.
In November 2010 my dad committed suicide. The night before Thanksgiving to be exact. He was my hunting partner and best friend.I hunted in a "club" with my inlaws.I did not hunt that year until a couple days after Christmas.
I already had vacation scheduled for the Christmas break to hunt with my dad and 5 yr old son at the time.Well, since he was no longer here I invited his best friend to join my son and I.His friend was 70 the time and just likes going but rarely kills. It was gonna be good for both of us.We get there and were trying to decide on stands for the next morning. There were 2 boxes that were in close proximity to each other that would be good.My wifes uncle asked who the 2nd stand was for.I told him and was quickly told that "we dont allow guests during the rut,no exceptions".
I was ready to leave at that point. My MIL had basically taken care of that uncle for 10 years while he was going through personal issues and job loss. She as livid,as was my wife.
That uncle has more issues than Time magazine but has created a family war over his perception of the way things should be.Its pretty much his way or the highway.
We distanced ourselves from that individual and our lives are much better. We hunt on our own property and the stress level is basically zero.At the time it seemed like I was at rock bottom but doors opened for our family and we count our blessings every day.I hope the situation improves for you....End of hijack.
