There are many words that will carry different meanings to different people based upon the speaker, the context, the audience, etc.

Trying to force a consensus on a plethora of descriptors will only result in cacophony, not to mention dumbs down the perceived intelligence of the listener.

An innocuous example: My wife can call herself and her friends "her bitches" as much as she pleases, but if I were to address one of her friends that way without rapport/context, or saw her get called such by a complete stranger, there'd be negative repercussions. I'm not beating down the door talking about how "unfair" it is that there's a double standard. The truth is, there will always be such because words carry different connotations depending on the situation in which they're uttered.

Saying all black people should react to the n word the same way is disingenuous and completely ignores the nuances of language that are ever-present.
