Man, the Japanese were crazy during WWII. Absolutely fanatical. As were the Russians and the Germans. You have to step back and think, "this is how far a man will go to destroy another man." Truly breathtaking in its horror.

Yep. Here's some pictures of what I was talking about....
Japanese school girl's being trained as infantry.
Adult civilians being trained to use bamboo spears
School children (they look about 10 - 12 yrs old to me) being trained to use bamboo spears
Now imagine what would have happened had we actually had to invade and our forces encountered literally tens of thousands of semi-trained women and children charging at them with bamboo spears or other crude weapons. It would have been a massacre on a biblical scale.
