PM has publicly commented that it won't be an "every year" thing. Will Davis was on air this morning saying that exposure in Houston is important. Definitely sounds like PM will try to get Wichita State to re-arrange the series to allow LSU to return to Houston in 2017.

Personally, I think it would lose its appeal if it was an every-year thing in Houston. IMO, the Wally Pontiff game in Metairie has suffered a little from that. Although it will get a nice shot in the arm by playing ULL this year, after (yawn) USM for a couple of years.

WP has sort of run its course. It's fine to honor his memory, but the game is no longer special because it's a midweek game. Coaches are throwing Johnny Wholestaff which makes most games boring.

The Houston Classic had weekend starters pitching in a SEC series or regionals type environment.
