I had to do it for two 5 hour sessions with an Episcopal priest and didn't mind it much. We went through our families' histories and such. No big deal. The guy said he's asked some couples to postpone the wedding if he didn't like what they were saying. I chuckled at that.

Don't let people talk shite about priests, as long as you don't have young boys I'm sure priests can be of some help.

I like the stories from my friends that have been to the priest where he gets all creepy and starts asking stuff about sexual fantasies, what kind of underwear do they like, do they ever flick the bean, etc.,

pretty marriage counseling should be mandatory for all couples....religious or not. It forces you to actually talk about important topics early that will come into play later in the marriage...sexual expectations...finances....family involvement...household management....et
