If selection Sunday were today? Maybe. Unfortunately, LSU's "security" is only as strong as the circumstances around them. For instance, Murray St. lost in their conf tournament last night. Thus, they don't get the auto-bid. They are still good enough however to at least be considered for an unanticipated at-large spot.
Illinois St. could win the OVC auto bid today. If they do, that means 3 teams get in from the OVC when only 2 were expected. That would take away one of the available "bubble" spots.
Tulsa is on the outside looking in today. BUT they can win the AAC if they beat SMU this afternoon. Bubble or not, I have a tough time thinking the committee leaves out a major-conf regular season champ. Could be another bubble spot locked up.
LSU is in very good shape at the moment, but still not a "lock"

All those bracket busting teams you mentioned are going to take spots away from Texas and Texas A&M. Not LSU. We are in. It's a lock.
