Looking at the Remainder of Schedule

I, without getting into specifics, landed on 14 wins and 7 losses if the team continues to play solid basketball.
Am being to optimistic or pessimistic? Does 47 wins get the Pels the 8th spot?

It's hard to say. Between the way Westbrook has been playing and the trade for Kanter, OKC will be able to keep going at a pretty good clip. It really is on the Pels to win as many as possible.

I came up with that exact same number. I think if we shock the world and do make the playoffs, it was bc of 4 things.
1. AD's heroics @ OKC last month to steal the tie breaker.
2. Pelicans not losing to any more non-playoff teams.
3. Warriors sitting their starters in AT LEAST 1 out of our next 2 matchups with them in order to avoid okc and play us.
And Finally
4. The final game of the season. The Spurs will have most likely clinched so chances are they will sit their players as well and it could all come down to that game.

Yep. We basically have to get in playoff mentality now. No losing to bad teams. It starts tonight with the Celts.

I think it will be right around 47-48 wins getting the 8 seed in which case having the head-to-head tiebreaker over OKC is huge

And I think we are. The intensity since the Orlando debacle has been pretty high.

The challenge will be that 11 of those games are on the road. The Pels are 12-18 on the road. The terrible losses against weak east teams may come back to hurt. I though at the beginning of the season if we went .500 on the road and held our ground at home we would definitely be in. Its gonna be close for sure. I think if Durant comes back OKC might slip up. It's been proven that Westbrook wants to be the star and Durant isn't ready to give that up yet.

Spurs have a relatively easy schedule the next few weeks. Then it gets tough. I'm hopeful the Pels can keep pace with them and then the Spurs drop a few at the end and maybe Pels can slip into that 7 seed. That would be ideal but tough. 3 games separate them now though so it's not unthinkable.
