How many SEC teams has more talent than LSU?
Losing to teams like Tenn, Mizzou, Auburn, Miss St isn't a talent issue.

I agree with the OP. Our starters lead the league in minutes played. They are constantly battling fatigue later in the game. We have no bench and Mickey and Martin are no where near elite. They are good at times, but also disappear at times at well. If our starters have an off game we can pretty much lose to anyone, because our lack of depth is so bad.

quote:In nearly every game we play Mickey and Martin are the two best players on the court. Then we have 3 7 footers on the bench, a 6'6" point guard, and a shooting guard that could play for any team in the SEC. Our backup point guard is clearly a talented ball handler and the 3rd guard we use as a starter has a great shot and is a fantastic defender.
Why do people say the basketball team has a lot of talent on it?
Quite simply they use their eyes to evaluate the talent, not a win - loss record and an undying worship of a coach who makes less moves during the game than just about any coach in D-1.

How can you expect to play in the NBA that has 4 12 minute quarters and 80 something games a year if your tired from playing 35 a game twice a week. Give me a break with that bullshite

They do have a lot of talent.

So Jones is riding his starters more than any other coach in D-1. Is he simply more intelligent than every other coach and his plan is genius, or do you think maybe, just maybe, he might be doing it wrong?

Exactly there's a reason for that.College kids play twice a week so they can focus on school simultaneously. NBA players don't so they play more games. It's a poor excuse for not playing hard and giving your full effort twice a week.
If your 20 yrs old and you can't play basketball for 70 minutes in a week something is wrong. He has no choice, what do you mean is he doing it wrong? What do you want JJ to do lose even more games?

quote:He has plenty of choice. The same choices that every other coach has in D-1 basketball. We underachieved this year, in part because Jones rides his starters and doesn't develop a bench. He is the worst in college basketball when it comes to that.

SECNetwork reporting Mickey in a sling at practice. Said he was injured early in the Tennessee game, which explains a lot. Said he is questionable against the piggies
Well this certainly explains the IGAF attitude of the rest of the team doesn't it? (Hornsby excluded)

Dude have you actually watched any games this year? Nobody on our bench can keep us in the game. We play our starters that much for a reason or else we would play the bench players more. Darcy can't stop fouling when he comes in and is softer than a roll of charmin. Bridgewater is decent but he lacks size for a big down low and gets in to foul trouble very quickly. Josh Gray well I don't have to explain myself on this one. Odo is a not an SEC caliber player. Robinson is not conditioned enough yet to keep up with JJ's style of play. I mean what is JJ suppose to do please tell me?? Watch a fricking game before you talk shite

I'm curious/. Who are the 4? Mickey, Martin and Quarterman I can guess and then who? Hornsby? Or is he just the ok one? Serious, not trying to be sarcastic.

Likewise maybe you should look at the players on the other teams and tell me their bench players would get any time under CJJ.
