How to reach retirees for job opportunity

I have a part time industrial consulting/sales position which would be perfect for a recent retiree. I have posted the job online but all the applicants are young green whippersnappers. Are there head hunters that specialize in this type of position? Any help would be appreciated.

I would think that retirees would be pretty connected. Ask folks in your business if they know of any recent retirees and network through there. Retirees probably aren't on monster.com looking for jobs.

Enjoy the age discrimination lawsuit?
Are you looking for someone with a particular type of experience?
Go talk to your local council on aging. O

There are many free lance consultancy groups that are made up of retired and current professionals.
My dad is a retired banking exec but "works" a few hours a week through Gerson Lehman Group.
You basically go on their site and pick your industry, the level of expertise you are looking for, and then you can review profiles based on their hourly rate.

I'm not sure if you're looking to hire someone local or just want to have someone you can bring in as a SME.
This is what my dad does is he works with a few different large law firms and a few times a year they'll fly him in and use him as a SME for various mortgage litigation cases.
