This is probably a somewhat worn out topic but now that some time has passed and nothing seems to be on the horizon for it, do you guys think a deal will ever be made with the NCAA or is this pretty much done due to their rules?

I loved the old NCAA games and there would obviously be a huge following if someone was able to step up and make it happen on next gen consoles.

I believe there's too much money to be made for both parties so yes. There's plenty of ways to avoid player likeness and I expect an agreement to be made in the future.

How long from today is the better question if you ask me

I think there will be. Like one of the posters above me said, they could just make a game without using any player's likeness. If LSU has a 6'0" black QB, then give us a 6'5" white guy in the game. Then recruiting players is just completely random CPU generated. And they could just give us the usual ability to edit rosters to individual preferences.

Besides, I, and I assume many others, just really like the gameplay of dynasty and "campus legend" or whatever it is, where having accurate rosters didn't make that much difference. Loved recruiting against friends and competing against them for the heisman/national championship. If you play any of those game modes long enough all the "real" players graduate at some point anyway. I just miss those game modes and Madden doesn't come close to replicating how fun they were.

Either that or the NCAA allow players to get paid and then maybe a company can afford to cut players in on a portion of the profits. If an NCAA was released for next-gen it would sell like hot cakes, no doubt.

Well, I would argue that the NCAA will cease to run the 5 power conferences within the next 15 years, so the players won't fall under NCAA rules.

It is all up to the NCAA and conferences as this point. EA was prepared to pay players for their likeness in games. However, NCAA would not let them. This was after the lawsuit. So it is all NCAA's fault right now.

While I'm sure I would still buy it and play it the fact that it had the real roster on it was a huge selling point to me so I disagree

NCAA 08, pre online competitive dynasty mode, I had a 25 man class, 24 of which were 5 star recruits. For SMU. I think out of like 31 total 5 star players, I got 24. I miss those games so bad. I loved turning 1 star shite prestige programs into powerhouses.

I don't think there will be another game until players receive a stipend. After these lawsuits the NCAA will not give another license until they're safe. We need a game where everything is customizable. They just make random teams and give you the set up w/recruiting and season structure, but you can adjust players and teams and such
