Anyone here know much about High School Lacrosse in Louisiana?

I have two friends who have sons in Middle School that quit football in order to concentrate on Lacrosse. Both were starters on their respective teams, one a quarterback.
I could be wrong but does LHSAA even recognize lacrosse? Are these kids going to be able to play lacrosse at the High School level?

Not recognized as an LHSAA sport yet but lots of schools have clubs. I guess just not enough to be reconginzed by LHSAA

It's waaaayyyyyy easier to get a scholarship for lacrosse than football. If the kids have talent, try and get on any kind of travel team they can. One that plays tournaments on the east coast would be best.

Exceptions but mainly kids not good enough at the main sports

Perhaps concussion evidence re lingering brain damage will convince Moms to lead their sons to pursue sports where concussions are much less likely. Especially now that experts are saying young brains especially need to be protected.

That really can't be the full story IMO.

Lacrosse is a spring sport in all states that take it seriously, so it should really only conflict with basketball to a certain extent and baseball/track.
LA lacrosse is definitely way back, but we are already starting to see kids from TN, GA, and especially TX getting scholarships for big schools. Duke even took a kid from SC this year. I think it's more developed in the northern part of the state than in the South, which is a little surprising. I can see one day how Jesuit, Catholic, Episcopal, Newman, and Dunham could have great teams, if it follows course with New England, Baltimore/DC.

sTm, Comeaux and Lafayette high have club teams I believe. I even saw Ulala women's club team playing the other day. They all share a field across from river ranch on kaliste saloom
