Yeah...maybe? I don't care, though. The series has always had characters that seemed to fit better into a super hero film than a serious military drama.

- A guy that can control hornets with his mind
- A robot ninja that can turn invisible
- A Russian colonel who can shoot lightening from his hands
- A vampire that can block bullets with his throwing knives

A lot of that has been explained with nano-machines before, so I guess they'll just use that again. Honestly though, the absurd mixed with the serious is one of the reasons why I come to the Metal Gear series.
