I am also happily married, and this friendship is important to me. But because if the marriage, I've gotta cool it, obviously. I had really convinced myself it was fine.

Stick to public events everyone, including your wife, can enjoy together. Your friend will get involved with somebody eventually. With any luck - Y'all can do some swappin' in the future.
